Vance Richard Davis was born to Claud Davis and Laura Mae (Cook) Davis.
Richard spent his childhood years in the Cowden Community. He was raised on the family farm, where wheat and cotton grew.
Richard married Flo Davis on August 12, 1955, in Wethersfield, Connecticut; the two would call this home for five years. In 1960, Richard moved his family to the Broxton area outside Fort Cobb, where he built their forever home.
Richard spent twenty-five years as a heavy equipment operator for Dolese and twenty-five years as a maintenance supervisor for Gabriel Ride Control. In his free time, Richard loved fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed tinkering with various projects and farm equipment.
Left to cherish Richard's memory are his wife, Flo Davis, of Fort Cobb; sons Bruce Davis and Cynthia of Cartwright, Oklahoma; Michael Davis and wife Melissa of Bells, Texa; daughter Michele Kliensorge and husband Mike of Fletcher, Oklahoma; sister Barbara Pinkston of Reno, Nevada; six grandchildren, Daniel Kliensorge, Presley Kliensorge, Kristin Davis, Morgan Davis, Madison Gibson, and Gabriel Gibson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Laura Davis; son, Keith Davis; brothers, JC Davis, Edward Davis, and James “Red” Davis; and sister, Josie McLemore and Patsy Ladd.
